Make your flexibility perform at its full potential

Energy Control

A plan without action is just a schedule

Just winging it without a plan is just guesswork. Energy Control does both, making sure your assets don't just react to the market, but take a proactive stance. It's not just a case of optimisation. It's an ecosystem that's all about getting results.

You need more than just individual tools to achieve this.

You need a system that links planning and execution all the time.

Scheduling

Determining how your assets generate value

By planning intelligently when you produce, consume, charge or discharge. Taking into account market prices, expected demand and your operational and critical limits.

Asset Steering

We're on the ball with your assets

And respond straight away when things pivot. Algorithms keep an eye on the market, but there's an Enova energy manager behind the scenes who steps in when things don't match up to the plan and the model. This could be because of sudden price hikes, a technical issue or something unexpected happening with the grid.

This helps you avoid problems like imbalances and costs, and, even better, make the most of any opportunities that come up. It's not that the system hopes to resolve the issue, but because there's always an Enova energy manager keeping an eye on things and stepping in when needed.

Multi-market dispatch

Not just one, but all markets that matter

Enova doesn’t focus on a single energy market. We operate across all the ones that matter.
We deploy your capacity across day ahead, intraday, aFRR, mFRR and congestion markets.

That means you’re not relying on a single source of income. You’re using the full energy market to maximise your returns.

Realtime optimisation

Continuous adjustment based on current conditions

Prices on the energy market are constantly moving. We adjust your assets based on price, grid conditions and deviations. Retrospective corrections are a thing of the past.

Pool orchestration

From individual assets to a single system

Most systems manage individual assets. Here at Enova, you'll become part of our balanced asset pool, or Virtual Power Plant (VPP). As a certified Balance Service Provider (BSP), we're actively managing this pool across all Dutch balancing markets and other energy markets.

Batteries, PVs (solar panels), CHP units and flexible consumption are not used separately, but are coordinated across markets, times and locations. This creates something that you just can't achieve with individual assets: capacity flows to where it delivers the most value at that moment, markets are used at the same time, assets compensate for each other's deviations, and flexibility is used fully. The best thing is that the market doesn't get as congested.

An optimized power grid is no longer a nice to have: It’s the prerequisite for growth

What's in the pool, and why it matters

A battery platform controls batteries. Enova’s VPP controls a full portfolio of flexible assets, combined, coordinated and aligned with market demand.

  • Batteries (BESS) for fast response in aFRR, imbalance and for intraday arbitrage
  • Combined heat and power (CHP) and HVO (bio) diesel generators for dispatchable capacity linked to heat production
  • Heat pumps and e-boilers for controllable electrification of heat
  • Electrolysers for flexible consumption linked to hydrogen production
  • Wind turbines and PV (solar parks) for production control based on price signals and curtailment
  • Industrial loads and load banks as directly controllable consumption flexibility
  • EV charging infrastructure for controlled charging moments as a market instrument
  • Cooling installations and climate systems for thermal inertia as a source of flexibility

The value is not in a single asset. The value lies in how they are interlinked.

When a CHP unit is contributing to aFRR, the battery can simultaneously trade intraday.
When PV curtailment is triggered, industrial loads or electrolysers absorb the surplus.

This is how our VPP operates, and delivers what a single-asset platform never can.
That’s why participation in the Enova pool results in structurally higher returns.

Battery Manager. Your battery as an active market player

A battery that charges and discharges on a fixed schedule leaves money on the table every day. Battery Manager is the control layer that puts an end to that, turning your installation into a fully-fledged market instrument and bringing your ROI up to three times closer.

Where Energy Control operates your full asset portfolio, Battery Manager goes a step further for BESS systems specifically. Real-time dispatch across day-ahead, intraday and balancing markets, automatic participation in aFRR and GOPACS participation as an automated congestion service.

Your battery as an active asset for the grid. Aligned with both your current and future energy needs.
